THE BELLS OF UXBRIDGE - Around 1870, John Bedford Leno; poet, playwright, printer and shopkeeper in Windsor Street, Uxbridge, wrote this poem about the bells of St Margaret’s Church, Windsor Street, Uxbridge. It was lost forever, until in 2015, the staff at Uxbridge Library uncovered a copy. 150 years after it was written, we have re-recorded it, in our shop, in Windsor Street, Uxbridge.
John Leno, we salute you.
